I might be wrong but ... The thing about the streak SRMs is that all rockets hit, isnt it? For SRMs, the missiles are rolled individually with 2 damage per missile. Not in packs of five like LRMs. Pulse lasers got a -2 to hit. Even a simple turn in the movement phase also results in a +1 modifier due to movement.

Is Spearhead supposed to replace warcry as a gateway/entry level point to AoS?

The way I discovered miniature gaming in general was a games workshop. When I was younger I lived in Maryland and a new mall opened up called arundel mills. Brand new massive mall. And there's was a small games workshop in it right next to a huge fye back when fye did like actual music and stuff. And let me tell you being introduced to miniature gaming in a actual store made for it with demos and stuff like that blew my mind as a kid I thought it was the coolest thing ever. The store isn't there anymore sadly. Didn't want to pay the rent of that small spot at the mall. But man do I miss it.😊

Man i watched so many of Your Mordheim games and Posest are just the worst. I think they never really did well for you. This was absolute Brutal to watch.

40k player who is super keen for this to be an ongoing thing. I run Combat Patrol events as it's good for community and a low commitment event. This feels like CP was the beta. Very excited... some really cool aspects. Just painting some Gitz and bonebois in advance of the release. :-)

My cousin is playing in the AoS World Championship as we speak, and he agreed with me recently that the competitive focus is bad for the community. It's a slow hobby that rewards care and attention, but metachasing drives sales, so here we are. The huge objective markers and lack of "immersion" is what keeps me away from competitive play, personally.

All I need to play is some fantasy buildings. I was also considering doing a mash-up grimdark post-apocalyptic game set in a future of necromancers terrorizing the wastelands. I have a ton of terrain for that and actually picked up a "cyborg necromancer" 3d print to just paint and it sparked the idea.

Talisman is one of my favorite games. I may have to pick this up once my FLGS stocks it.

What no monk? Pssh. At least this is better than the edition (forgot which) based on WHF which had a Skaven character who's main ability was being immune to the siren (along with other non-humans) and could take the giant rat, skaven and rat ogre as followers. Funny bit and typical GW QC was that there were no skaven or rat ogre monsters.

40K has gotten progressively less interesting since 8th. There are not enough limiting factors or difficult decisions. 10th has gone way too far from the game I love

Best game to play if you have a bunch of gamer buddies together and nothing planned or a planned session falls apart. Break out Talisman!

ironic, my physical copies of Deth Wizards and Space Station Zero just came in today.

I bought the book as soon as it came out, awesome theme made by a great youtuber. Space Station Zero was incredible too, and so was Reign in Hell. It's great to see you review the 3 games I've really been interested in recently all at once! (Cohors, Deth Wizards, Talisman)

As a former Ravenloft DM and collector of Undead WHFB armies this sounds like some epic fun. This might also be the type of motivation I finally need to paint all three Lady Dimitrescu minis from Brother Vinnie.

Couldn't agree more. Literally describing "Combat Patrol". Which has been religated to a baby-40k status. Same as Blitz Bowl... there are honestly some amazing introductory offerings from GW, but the PR just isn't there to make them viable.

Very excited about this - preordered it immediately when I found out about it. Played 1st edition when I was a kid and this is the first new edition since I got back into the hobby in 2020… this is pure nostalgia goodness for me! Imagine I’m going to be all over the expansions too. Will you do a let’s play at some point?

I like the idea behind this game, that and the fact it's a great first game to get into for DnD players with established model collections.

wow, I can't belive you endorce this game! Oh well, to each their own, but for me this is a horribly outdated game that boils down to a single die roll for your move and then sitting around for hours upon hours.... I think anyone who introduces this to new players are sure to do them a big disfavour... Sure, I loved this game as a kid, but we know so much better now... I am utterly dissapointed they just repulished this old piece of crap instead of actually putting some effort into it, re-designing it and updating it's mechanics to make it at all playable.

Looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Sadly Rotten Factory seems to be on indefinite hiatus, because their models would be perfect for this.
